We are privileged to have the very special and extensive thimble collection of Vera Brereton included in our auction today.
Vera was born in Diss in Norfolk and lived in the county for her entire life. She and her husband George sold jewellery and antiques, particularly silver and porcelain, at fairs throughout East Anglia during their retirement. Over a twenty-year period, she built an extensive collection of British, Continental and American thimbles, some of them rare or unusual. She died in 2012. Her collection forms the first part of our auction today.
